Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center, located in Los Angeles, is a non-profit organization that provides an array of comprehensive mental health services for Children, Adolescents, Transitional Aged Youth, and Adults suffering from mental illness in the Greater Los Angeles area. The organization consists of a standalone fifty-five (55) )-bed hospital and six outlying outpatient facilities that have anywhere from fourteen (14) beds to one hundred and thirty-four (134) beds. The organization has approximately four hundred (400) employees.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The EHR Support and Data Analyst Specialist provides primary support to staff on EHR-related systems and applications. The EHR Support and Data Analyst Specialist serves as a member of the EHR Support Desk team to provide its customers with EHR support over the phone, email and in person. The EHR Support and Data Analyst Specialist works with the EHR team to resolve EHR-related issues and prioritizes end-user issues and requests, determines the source of the issues, advises on appropriate corrective action, or acts on them. This position reports to the EHR Systems Administrator and the Director of Revenue Cycle Management and may be assigned various projects and duties as needed and/or assigned.

ESSENTIALS DUTIES
  • Provides end-user support for Gateways Hospital and Community Mental Health Center's EHR system applications.
  • Works independently and in a team to identify, research and resolve EHR issues.
  • Works one-on-one with end-users to resolve EHR issues and aids when necessary.
  • Works with EHR Team to process EHR system upgrades and upgrade configurations.
  • Helps in researching and writing documentation for end-user training and manuals.
  • Works with EHR Systems Administrator to maintain and update Gateways Hospital and Community Mental Health Center's EHR systems.
  • Responds to questions from the Gateways Hospital and Community Mental Health Center's internal EHR Support ticket system and assists end-users both remotely and via email.
  • Follows standard EHR Support operating procedures and accurately tracks all support tickets.
  • Assists with Data Collection and Analysis as needed for the Agency's reporting purposes.
  • Creates Form and Document Modeling as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the EHR Systems Administrator and/or the Director of Revenue Cycle Management.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-3+ years of behavioral health electronic medical health systems experience.
  • Experience with Los Angeles County Department Mental Health service delivery including billing and revenue.
  • Ability to simplify technical language for lay audiences during staff training and troubleshooting sessions.
  • Ability to identify, resolve and/or avert potential problems.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Creativity and analytical ability to solve problems in a variety of situations, roles, environments.
  • Ability to work independently, organize work efficiently, attention to detail, and able to prioritize responses to changing business needs.
  • Preferred: experience with Netsmart and Carelogic.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATES
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in information systems analysis and design in a healthcare service provider capacity.
  • If a degree has not been attained matching the qualifications stated above, a minimum of 5 years of direct EHR support and system applications experience is required in the capacity of a specialist or analyst.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance.
  • Valid California Driver's license.
  • TB clearance.
  • Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier.
  • Fire and Safety Training*.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI)**
  • Note: If indicated certifications/licenses are lacking, they must be obtained within 180 days of hire.
  • **Training needs to be completed within 30 days from the date of hire on a designated date provided by onboarding. Staff need to be certified at a commensurate level for their role to perform their job duties (staff will be taken off the schedule if certification is not achieved).
