Get to Know Your Team:

* Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma and tertiary care center and home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities

* Provides clerical support and office management to the inpatient adult unit within Behavioral Health Services by monitoring incoming calls and information regarding patient care and department services, including all telephonic, faxed and printed communication and the electronic medical record.
* Assembles and maintains patient charts ensuring charts are properly labeled and stocked with required forms. Processes unit patient work for patient admission in an accurate and timely manner. Assures charts are ready for treatment team.
* Assists in coordinating clinical visitors for patient assessment and treatment processes.
* Communicates and documents exchange of information on all Protective Custody Patients. Maintains complete records of the Protective Custody Process within the patient's Medical Record.
* Supports the discharge plan and BHS clinicians in making referrals and appointment for patients as required. Responsible for insuring discharge plan and appropriate information is sent to the next level of care provider.
* As a Certified Nursing Assistant, provides direct patient care based on individual need according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols, under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse and within the scope of the practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant.
* Manages office supplies, patient supplies and some clinical supplies.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

* High School or GED
* Current CNA Certification in the State of Idaho
* Current BLS certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

* Experience as a nursing assistant with prior mental health experience highly preferred
* One year of secretarial or office management experience
