Bourns, Inc., a leading global supplier of reliable, high-quality electronic components and solutions for over seventy-five years, seeks a Tax Clerk. Under close supervision, this role performs assignments and projects for the Corporate Tax Department. This includes preparing sales/use tax returns, property tax statements and returns, annual reports, conducting tax research on issues affecting the Company, and participating in cross-functional meetings. The role is very due date-oriented, and the candidate must be able to work to meet deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/use tax returns and work papers, and file returns in a timely manner.
* Prepare quarterly diesel fuel tax returns and work papers. File returns in a timely manner.
* Prepare annual reports and work papers. File reports in a timely manner.
* Prepare property tax statements. File statements in a timely manner.
* Coordinate with Tax Department on getting property tax bills paid in a timely manner.
* Communicate and work with various persons across the organization as necessary to gather information to prepare returns and work papers.
* Provide help with routine matters such as organizing documents, printing general ledger reports, creating finance reports for tax return preparation, and performing research for non-complex tax matters.

Qualifications Needed:

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent qualification. Final year students or seniors working towards bachelor's degree in accounting are also encouraged to apply.
* At least one year of relevant work experience. Strong preference for candidates with experience in an office setting. Experience working in a remote setting is highly desirable.
* Must be able to produce clear and concise written communications.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word. Advanced Excel skills preferred.
* Pay scale: $21/hour.

On-site. Part-time/hourly. Approximately 15 hours per week. Anticipated hire date of August 5th, 2024, or after.
