Description:

Responsible to perform laboratory testing assigned to the department. Recognize unusual test results and resolve discrepancies. Maintain knowledge of all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) required to perform effectively. Maintain excellent communication with the Department and other Laboratory Services personnel.

Competently perform all assigned departmental duties.

May perform Pre-Analytical tasks (receipt, qualification, and preparation of samples for testing), CLIA waived tests, and moderate and/or high complexity testing on patient, donors, or biologic products using routine chemistries utilizing automated / semi-automated methods with internal support systems.

Recognize and report unusual test results in a timely manner to appropriate management.

Operate equipment utilizing established protocols and within quality control limits.

Recognize equipment malfunctions and/or technical problems and take appropriate steps to resolve.

Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Prepare and maintain reports/records and perform computer data entry.

Maintain departmental supplies within established inventory levels.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a scientific discipline.

1-2 years of previous automated testing experience

1-2 years of experience working in a heavily regulated lab setting by CLIA and/or FDA.
