Job Responsibilities

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at the SC Dept. of Mental Health at Santee-Wateree Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) in the Roads of Independence (ROI) Program located at 1175 N. Guignard Drive, Sumter, SC., 29150.

* Under general supervision, provides education, outreach, advanced counseling, and emergency services in the complex areas of mental health and/or substance abuse for youth, young adults, and families within the Center's community mental health program and school programs as part of the ROI Healthy Transitions/Project Connect programs in Sumter county. A major focus will be to work with identified youth and families in need of mental health services in an alternative school and community setting.
* Provides an array of evidence-based treatment and mental health services in a culturally competent manner. Clinical services to be performed as privileged, will include, but not limited to assessment, triage/crisis intervention, individual, group, family therapy, and service plan development. Participates in treatment team and administrative meetings as designated. Formulates plans of care with patient/family and works collaboratively with youth peer support and treatment team members to identify treatment goals. Maintains accurate and timely medical records.
* Complies with all SCDMH/SWCMHC Corporate Compliance policies, QA, HIPAA, CARF and ethical standards, policies, procedures, and duties to include all billing and documentation practices. Attends self-directed trainings and other required trainings regarding Corporate Compliance according to SC DMH policies. Gathers and submits outcome/reporting data as requested for compliance with all Center, QA, DMH initiatives, grant and CARF reporting.
* Provides education/training/consultation to schools, law enforcement professionals, families, and community partners as requested/directed. Serve as liaison to local law enforcement and provide feedback on participant risk/progress in treatment. Participates in court proceedings when necessary.
* Participates and assists with planning/coordination of community outreach. Active participation in gathering and submitting data collection and assimilation for reporting outcomes as required.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State: A master's degree and professional experience in human services or social services program.

DMH:

Valid driver's license required.-

Note: Applicants must also meet Agency minimum requirements to be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer candidates licensed as LPC, LMSW, LISW, LMFT, and/or CAC-I/II Certification.

Recent graduating students preparing for a licensure are encouraged to apply.

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Experience working with children, youth, young adults, and families with mental health and or substance abuse disorders in a clinical setting.
