We are looking for a Full-Time Research Coordinator I to join the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research as part of the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX. This position will work closely with a project aimed at increasing HPV vaccination among ethnic-minority youth in multiple medically underserved areas across Texas. Position Summary:

The Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research has been awarded a 4-year grant aimed at increasing HPV vaccination among ethnic-minority youth in multiple medically underserved areas (MUAs) across Texas. Project activities include delivery of: 1) a social marketing campaign aimed at English and Spanish speaking parents in the MUAs, 2) school-based vaccination clinics at public middle schools, and 3) local and statewide education of school nurses to improve communication with parents about HPV vaccination.

Under general direction of the senior program manager, the Research Coordinator I will conduct activities to support the research project. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices. This position is located in Houston, TX. Certification for Protection of Human Research Subjects must be completed within 5 days of employment.

Position Key Accountabilities:

* Assists with day-to-day project management coordination.
* Serve as liaison to Houston Independent School District and healthcare provider partners Texas Children's Mobile Clinic Program and Memorial Hermann Health Centers for Schools to ensure that all activities related to vaccination clinics run according to plan. Tasks include regular and clear communication with providers, district partners, and school contacts to coordinate scheduling and prepare for school-based vaccination clinics
* Assist with intervention planning and development, including translation of Spanish-language messages.
* Participate in implementation of mobile vaccination clinic activities, supporting other project staff with implementation in Aldine Independent School District and Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District (Baytown). Regular/weekly travel within greater Houston area is required. Must have reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided).
* Assist with preparation of clinic related materials, message delivery, and data collection activities.
* Assist in coordination of evaluation activities, including distribution and management of surveys. Prepares evaluation reports as needed.
* Maintains confidential records of collected data, ensures accuracy and integrity of data.
* Prepares draft reports and communications for funding agency and key stakeholders.
* Provides direction and guidance to staff regarding project implementation activities, as needed.
* Maintain project supplies inventory and assist program manager with supply orders.
* Participates in weekly team meetings.
* Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulation and codes.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Bilingual in English/ Spanish.

Minimum Education:

* Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Preferred:

* Master's degree in public health or related field.

Minimum Experience:

* Previous experience with health promotion/ education, community-based, and/or school-based programs is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
