Nursing Assistant, Med Surg

* Assists in providing nursing care to patients and collects data for assessment of physical, psychological, and social dimensions under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
* Participates in implementing a formal plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
* Participates in at least four unit staff meetings per year, attends mandatory programs.
* Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
* Assesses personal and learning development needs. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served.
* Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided.
* Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
* Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor.
Additional NURSING ASSISTANT II PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems).
* Assists in orientation of other personnel to the unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Nursing Assistant, Trainee - Grade: S6, Job Code: 8005
* Ability to read, write and communicate in English
* Obtain BLS Certification upon the completion of the Apprenticeship Program
* The Nursing Assistant Registered Apprenticeship Program:
* 1) Includes classroom curriculum with an accredited Nursing Assistant Program
* 2) Includes on-the-job training
* 3) Must successfully complete Program within 6 months of hire into Trainee position
* Upon completion of the Nursing Assistant Registered Apprenticeship Program, incumbent will transfer into the Nursing Assistant Grade S7, Job Code: 8003
Nursing Assistant, Will-Train - Grade: S6, Job Code 8007
* Ability to read, write and communicate in English
* Obtain BLS Certification upon completion of the Will-Train program
* Upon completion of the Cape Cod Hospital Nursing Assistant training program, successful passage of the Cape Cod Hospital written competency exam for Nursing Assistant
* Upon completion of the Cape Cod Hospital Nursing Assistant Training program, incumbent will transfer into the Nursing Assistant Grade S7, Job Code: 8003
Nursing Assistant - Grade: S7, Job Code: 8003
* Ability to read, write and communicate in English
* Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
* a) MA Certified Nursing Assistant License
* b) Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Program
* c) Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or National CMA
* d) Successful completion of an EMT Program or EMT-B/EMT-P License
* e) Successful completion of an LPN Program
* f) Equivalent clinical Military experience
* g) Nursing student who is currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing School Program and has completed Fundamentals of Nursing/Nursing 101 in lieu of a Nursing Assistant Program
* h) Successful completion of the Cape Cod Hospital Nursing Assistant Training program
* Current Basic Life Support Certification
* Successful passage of CPI training within 6 months of hire and must maintain recertification annually
