The Department of Health Sciences at Cedar Crest College seeks a full-time faculty member to teach in the newly designed Master's in Public Health program, as well as the established undergraduate Public Health program. The position begins July 2024 and is a renewable (non-tenure track) position. The Health Sciences Department is fully committed to assembling a diverse faculty team with a global perspective, focused on creating an inclusive and transformative learning environment to prepare students for today's and tomorrow's public health challenges.
Candidates should have experience teaching, or the ability to learn to teach, courses in community health, health education, chronic disease prevention and management, and/or health disparities. Experience with online learning, or the interest to develop this expertise, is preferred, as the undergraduate program is taught in in-person, online, and hybrid modalities while the MPH will be completely online. Experience in research and supervising student internship activities is also preferred. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues, support an inter-professional, transformative learning environment, advise students, and participate in service activities to support the College, community, and profession. Qualified candidates will engage in scholarly activities keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship.
Primary responsibilities of the position include:
* Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses (in-person, online, and hybrid modalities)
* Maintaining an active, collaborative research agenda, and
* Engaging in departmental, College, and professional service.
We seek to recruit a candidate with the following minimum educational qualifications:
* a DrPH or PhD in public health, or a related doctorate degree with an MPH
* Experience in an academic setting and knowledge of public-health curriculum and accreditation process is sought but not required
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leaderships skills are essential, in addition to organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and
* Ability to foster collaborations with stakeholders and strengthen relationships with community partners is necessary
