* Position Summary
* This position provides leadership in the coordination of instrumentation in the operating Room and Sterile Processing. Responsible for collaborating with department managers, sterile processing technicians and other clinical areas in the hospital to assure timely availability of implants, instrumentation, and equipment in good working condition for safe patient care across the organization. This position is responsible for the implementation, organization, maintenance, on-going education, problem solving and quality assurance for the department.




* Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
* Education: See "Experience"


* License/Certifications: Certified Instrument Specialist certification required within 1 year of hire. CRCST certification within 6 months of hire.


* Experience: Five years' experience as a CRCST OR Bachelor's degree and one year of sterile processing experience. Experience with Micro Management/SPM system preferred or similar Instrument Tracking System. Experience with steam & STERRAD sterilization processes preferred. Experience with high Level disinfections systems preferred.


* Experience with high Level disinfections systems preferred.


* Knowledgeable in microsystems, tracking, computer skill, strong leadership and organizational skills.


* Vast surgical instrumentation and sterilization knowledge.


* Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with many interruptions.


* Able to work in a fast paced environment to meet time sensitive deadlines.
