Schedule: Full-Time/part time

Shift: Day's and Night's 6:45 am to 7:15 pm to 6:45 pm to 7:15 am

Location: East Rollins ST, Orlando FL

The role you'll contribute:

Orlando South:

+ Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando

+ serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America

+ AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country

+ We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year

+ Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL)

+ Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions

+ Observes and records patient behaviors and activities

+ Reports changes in patient conditions to appropriate personnel and recommends treatment plan modifications

+ Establishes therapeutic relationships with assigned patients

+ Works directly with patients, family members, physicians, and community providers to ensure collaborative and continuous care

+ May be required to manage daily group activities

+ Assists patients to perform routine activities of daily living

+ Recognizes potential escalation of behavior and has ability to use appropriate verbal and physical interventions

+ Recognizes potential safety hazards, intervenes for the safety of patients, visitors and staff and notifies appropriate department or person for correction of the problem

+ Assists in restraint situations: utilizing de-escalation skills to prevent restraints, applying restraints when needed with RN direction, maintaining patient safety, appropriate documentation of patient behaviors and interventions

+ Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

* BLS certification - must be obtained within 90 days of employment
* CNA certification if state applicable
* Formal De-escalation Training - must be obtained within 90 days of employment

Required Education:

High School Diploma Or equivalent

Job Summary:

Provides direct behavioral health patient care.
