Job Summary: The LVN-General Med is responsible to perform patient-oriented procedures and tasks within the scope of their education and training and under the direction of a clinician or licensed personnel. Provides nursing care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems; utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices and ethics. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Vocational Nursing and/or passing of LVN licensing board examination required. No experience required.

Knowledge and Skills: Use of computer, copier, fax machine, scanner answer telephones. Good digital dexterity, hand-eye coordination to demonstrate proper use of medical equipment, supplies and tools. Effectively teach employees new procedures. Work on team to accomplish specific goals, teach employees new procedures, demonstrate use of equipment / supplies, communicates by phone / in person with department staff and outside patients. Work well on team to accomplish specific goals. Prioritize variety of assignments; follow moderate/complex instructions, work independently without direct supervision; proofread documents for content/context accuracy; recognize and appropriately report safety problems or other problem situations. Requires adequate visual, hearing, olfactory and tactile acuity to proficiently perform essential duties.

Licensures and Certifications: Current and unrestricted California LVN license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained. IV Certification preferred.
