**Surgical Tech / Level 4 / Cardiovascular Thoracic Operating Room**

Shift: Full Time 6:30am - 3:00pm

Location: Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital, 5665 Peachtree Dunwoody Road NE

Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital CVOR has 6 OR's with 1 hybrid room. We are a Level 1 Cardiac Center with 1200+ heart cases/year.

**This position is 6:30am - 3:00pm full time with required on-call.**

We are seeking a capable **Surgical Tech IV / Surg Tech / CVOR** who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.

+ Implements and evaluates care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures.

+ Prioritizes and actively participates in procedure process and supplies for specialty group of patients.

+ Identifies verbally or in writing unusual incidents during patient care procedures and identifies complex procedure problems related to patient reaction, symptoms, or changes in needs based on patient reactions.

+ Determine the equipment, materials, and resources needed to meet the patient procedure plan.

+ Keeps the peri-operative team abreast of the procedure needs and progress.

+ Active membership in professional organization.

+ Assists with planning and conducting department orientation of new staff and students. Serves as role model or mentor for new staff and students.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ A high school diploma or equivalent.

+ Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training.

+ Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.

+ Two years multispecialty experience with one year in CVOR specialty area.

+ Must be able to function as a clinical expert in CVOR service line and have the ability to float to other service lines as needed.
