Piper Companies is looking for an Associate Scientist to work for a Large Pharmaceutical manufacturer in Durham, NC.

Responsibilities for the Associate Scientist include:

* Assist in the execution of the laboratory work necessary for commercialization of pharmaceutical products.
* Performs hands-on laboratory bench work preparing solutions and processing samples for testing in accordance with approved procedures and methods.
* Conducts laboratory work with high degree of accuracy and precision, including but not limited to, quantitative weighing, dilution, sample handling and processing.
* Ensures all laboratory work is documented in accordance with approved procedures.
* Environmental monitoring, growth promotion testing, microbial identification
* Builds knowledge and prowess offered through training and guidance to increase manual skills and competence on instrumental analysis using HPLC, GC, dissolution, UV-visible spectrophotometry, Karl Fischer, and other techniques as required.

Qualifications for the Associate Scientist include:

* Bachelor of Science in related field is a plus
* 6+ months experience working in a cGMP environment
* Exposure and knowledge of the majority of the following: HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, titration and wet chemistry.

Compensation for the Associate Scientist include:

* $65k-70k
* Full Medical, Dental, Vision
* 2 weeks PTO, 6 Paid holidays
