Job Summary

* The MR technologist demonstrates an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, contrast agents, MR safety and medical terminology.
* Maintains a high degree of accuracy in positioning and technique. The MR technologist performs MRI procedures according to established protocols to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
* Prepares and administers contrast at the direction of the radiologist in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
* Ensures the delivery of quality care in a safe environment for infant through adult patients.
* The MR technologist remains sensitive to the physical, cultural and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner.
* The MR technologist engages in continuing education to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge and technical competence while embracing lifelong learning.
* The MR technologist uses independent, professional and ethical judgment, along with critical thinking in performance of duties.

Schedule:

* Primarily Second shift with variable shift coverage
* Rotating every 3rd weekend
* Weekday and Weekend On call coverage
* Holiday rotation with On call coverage

Qualifications

Education Requirements

* Post High School Diploma Program

Experience

* Relevant Experience

Certification and Licensure

* BLS Certification
* Registered as an MRI Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist RT (R ) (MR) or Registered as an MRI Technologist with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
* RT (R) (ARRT) or RT (R) (MR) or RT (MR)
