Primary Purpose:
Support the efforts of special education at the campus level. Enter student data for PEIMS through the Skyward system for registration and withdrawal; assist with SHARS data collection; arrange meetings as needed; provide translation in Spanish as determined necessary; send meeting notices as directed; send various reminders and manage multiple calendars for identified support staff; provide printed materials as needed
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Graduate or GED certificate; some college preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of the Medicaid insurance program
Competent in computer input/output operations
Spanish speaking
Experience:
One to three years of secretarial experience in a school environment
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Must have good communication/organizational skills
2. Ability to work well with others
3. Ability to schedule appointments
4. Flexibility in working with the total education team is necessary
5. Ability to proof written correspondence for accuracy
6. Frequent interruptions and dealing with last-minute deadlines are necessary
7. Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress
8. Coordinate schedules of support staff and teachers for ARD and MDR meetings
9. Assist in the maintaining of campus student folders
10. Responsible for the verification of PEIMS reports and the leaver codes at the campus
11. Assist with maintenance of student four-year plans and Summary of Progress
12. Send 2nd and 3rd notice of meetings
13. Translate ARD meetings and phone conferences with parents who require information in Spanish
14. Attend all required training at campus and district levels
15. Report incidents and concerns to Program Specialist
16. Maintain files
17. Maintain confidentiality
