Summary:

Tramec Continental Aero, located in Alsip, Illinois, is a leading fastener distribution company primarily dealing with internally threaded fasteners. The Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of the Receiving Department, and freight put-away. With a hands-on approach, your goal will be to increase operational efficiencies, promote and enforce a safe work environment, and to determine the acceptability of product through quality inspections.

Managerial Responsibilities:
  • Assists in training front-line employees.
  • Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of receiving team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with other managers to coordinate activities in and among departments.
  • Distribute or designate work assignments
  • Create Put-Away spreadsheets for all inbound product
  • Assists in performing quality inspection for all inbound shipments
  • Weigh and wrap pallets
  • Load and unload trailers and containers
  • Inventory Control - Product placement in locations
  • Maintains and keeps a clean and organized dock area.
  • Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or related software.
  • Experienced forklift operator on sit-down, stand-up, and stockpikers.

Education and Experience:
  • Industrial Distribution work experience required.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the warehouse.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds at times.
  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
