Job Description
SCOPE OF POSITION
The Donor Technical Specialist is an integral part of donor center regulatory, quality, and LIS operations. This position is the subject matter expert on LIS functionality and control file set-up and is responsible for maintenance and development of applications to align with departmental processes. Performs donor notification of reactive donor screening test results, lookbacks, and submits FDA Biological Deviation Reports. Works collaboratively with hospital transfusion services, management, and clinical staff on patient blood management and transfusion safety. Other duties as assigned.
The Donor Technical Specialist must possess initiative, sound judgment, high level problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. The desire to provide excellent customer service is required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Clinical Laboratory Science degree or certification and 5 years blood bank/transfusion service experience required.
State or national license preferred.
SBB desirable.
