Position Summary: The Referral Specialist assists staff and providers in performing various duties to support CHS Integrated Medical Group#s patient referral and advanced imaging authorization process. The Referral Specialist is the liaison between the patient, payor and the provider and or location of service. The Referral Specialist will document all necessary appointment, referral and order information in the electronic medical record. Primarily responsible for the timely processing of incoming/outgoing referrals and advanced imaging orders (procedures and tests) in alignment with our Service Level Agreement (SLA). Provides patients with correct documentation of date, time, service location and any necessary preparation for scheduled tests and referrals. Previous EMR experience is preferred, along with medical office experience. Computer skills and medical terminology required. Qualified applicants must possess strong interpersonal skills, be a team player, be able to multitask and support CHS mission.
