Departmental Overview
NRHS Mammography is a full-service department offering both screening and diagnostic mammograms, as well as interventional/biopsy services and bone densitometry. Our primary location sits outside of the hospital on the HealthPlex campus, and sees well over one hundred patients per day. Two satellite locations at Norman Regional Moore and Norman Regional Nine offer a convenient location for screening mammograms and DEXA visits. We are looking for motivated technologists who want to be part of a growing team with the opportunity to expand their horizons and knowledge base along the way.
Job Summary
Mammographer essential functions include, but are not limited to:
* Performs screening and diagnostic mammogram
* Performs necessary quality assurance tasks for equipment
* Assists physicians with biopsy procedures as needed
* Provides high-quality patient care with safety for both patients and healers in mind
* Works with physicians and physician offices to ensure patients receive the best possible care for their treatment plan
Qualifications
Education & Certification
* Completion of an accredited 2 or 4 year program in Sonography accredited by either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Training (JRCERT).
* Registered Technologist in Mammography specialty and tomosynthesis qualifications required.
* DEXA registry required for Mammographer II.
* Stereotactic experience preferred.
Ongoing Education Requirements
* Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current BLS is required to be maintained through re-training for the duration of employment (provided by NRHS).
* Maintenance of Registered Technologist status throughout employment with CMEs as required by the accrediting body.
* Completion of annual training as provided by NRHS.
