Shaffer Distributing Delivery Drivers service a variety of customers in the Amusement and Vending industries by delivering and installing various types of equipment safely and effectively. Using various handling materials and a hands on approach, Box Truck Drivers can expect to load/unload, deliver and install a variety of items using non CDL equipment while also operating in a warehouse environment. A valid Non-CDL Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record check are required. This is a stable, full-time position with at least 40 hours per week.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Drive, deliver and install equipment at Shaffer customers located throughout Ohio via late-model 26' box truck with automatic transmission and liftgate.
  • Deliver and pickup equipment and parts transfers at other Shaffer offices.
  • Prepare and load equipment, using appropriate protective cornering, shrink wrap and blankets to protect equipment during transport.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.

Hours of operation are approximately Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The schedule varies based on customer demands. Driver scheduled start times may vary based on delivery demands and overtime. The job will mainly be in the state of Ohio to start off with. Some overnight stays may be required. Opportunities for out of state travel will arise in the future. All travel is covered.

Position Requirements
  • 1 year previous box truck driving experience
  • Valid Non-CDL driver's license with clean driving history
  • Must have or be able to get DOT medical card prior to employment, and pass a background check including criminal and driving histories.
  • Knowledge of ELD system and DOT requirements
  • Able to lift 50-75 pounds
  • Able to navigate multiple types of moving equipment including jacks, dollies, carts, both powered and unpowered
  • Ability to stretch, pull, push ,twist repetitively
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in the elements safely
  • Quality customer service mindset as the position is customer facing

  • Mechanical knowledge/technical background; experience using power tools and assembling furniture or accessories a plus
