Position Summary

The Department of Workforce Education and Instructional Technology at the University of Georgiainvites applications for a position as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Workforce Education to begin August 2024. The position is a non-tenure-track, academic year appointment with the possibility of summer employment.

The successful candidate will:

* Coordinate the BSEd in Workforce Education (Engineering and Technology) program.
* Assist with the coordination of the program's career and technical education (CTE) emphasis areas.
* Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in workforce education.
* Advise undergraduate and graduate students, and supervise students seeking teacher certification in career and technical education.
* Work with faculty, university advisors, school district administration, and others to market academic programs, and identify and recruit outstanding students.
* Work in conjunction with program faculty on curriculum development, policy development and review, and general student support.
* Contribute to the collegial community of the department to maintain programs of excellence in research and teaching.
* Provide service to the college, university, profession, and public.

Additional Requirements

Required Qualifications:

* A record of three or more years teaching experience in a CTE-related area.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

Desired Qualifications:

* Teaching history as a certified CTE teacher in a secondary education setting.
* Background in STEM-education and/or Family and Consumer Science-education related fields are especially encouraged to apply.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Desired Qualifications:

* A commitment to the development of undergraduate and graduate students in teacher preparation programs in CTE.
* Evidence of creating inclusive learning environments and broadening participation in CTE.
* Familiarity through instruction or research with current and emerging trends and cultural contexts in secondary, postsecondary, and/or workplace settings.
* Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, professional interactions, and service.
