Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing general business counseling and contract review for all operating groups in the Company; this role will also provide support for litigation matters and compliance programs. The role demands leadership, oversight, and strategic direction to ensure alignment with Graniterock's Family Vision, Core Purpose, and Values.

Essential Job Accountabilities

1. Safety Before All Else: Comply, understand, and promote corporate and division safety initiatives to ensure "Safety Before All Else."

2. Contracts & Contract Management System: Collaborate with business leaders to proactively identify and assess the various contracts utilized across the company. Develop new contracts and refresh existing contract templates as needed. Provide training to enhance operating team members' understanding of the use of our contract templates. Provide legal review and guidance to all operating divisions with respect to contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders and other related matters.

3. Establish and maintain contracting policies and procedures as required.

4. Litigation Support: Provide support for litigation matters and claims asserted by and against the Company. Provide counseling and advice to team members regarding contractual disputes and potential claims.

5. Compliance Support: Support the Chief Compliance Officer with respect to the execution of compliance projects and initiatives.

6. Collections: Lead the Company's collections work on delinquent credit accounts referred to the Legal team.

7. Training: Support and the development and implementation of training programs on behalf of the Legal department.

Education and Work Experience

* Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
* Current member of California State Bar in good standing.
* Certified Professional Contracts Manager preferred.
* 3-6 years' experience in corporate contract management and litigation support.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Excellent legal research and writing skills.
* Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts.
* Demonstrated ability to manage all phases of the contract management process, including proposals, negotiation of pricing, terms and conditions, contract administration and close out.
* Strong organizational skills and remarkable attention to detail are required.
* Ability to communicate effectively and work well with all roles within the Company.
* Self-starter who takes ownership of work and demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
* Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while handling and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
* Proficiency with all MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
