LOCATION: District Wide
WORK YEAR: Student Calendar, guarenteed 5 hours per day
WAGES: $13.00 per hour; Employed through EDUStaff, Inc
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or GED.
- Experience working with school age children.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work directly with students in an appropriate and professional manner and give direction as needed.
- Must meet Highly Qualified requirements for Paraprofessionals as defined by NCLB or willing to obtain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Assist driver in operation of lifts for wheelchairs and assisting disabled students.
- Assist driver in maintaining good student conduct on bus.
- Assist driver in securing any special equipment that may accompany students.
- Assist driver in being alert to any conditions in loading area that may present a danger to students.
- Communicate appropriately with driver, students, parents, and other employees.
- Performs such other functions and duties as may be assigned by the Transportation Supervisor and/or his/her designee.
- Keep the driver informed of any special needs or problems of students.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Assist driver as directed.
