Job Summary
LPN unit based functions include, but not limited to observing patient responses to treatment and reports any changes in patient status to the registered nurse and physicians, reviewing and clarifying physician orders, receiving critical lab results, administering medications and fluids through various routes with a high degree of safety and accuracy, maintaining accurate records, contributing to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients, documenting nursing care and activities. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.
EXPERIENCE
Previous hospital experience helpful.
Previous work history reflecting stable employment.
If no work experience, will consider school attendance and performance records.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
Current LPN license from the State of Oklahoma or active Multistate LPN license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial for this role, as well as the ability to pay close attention to details and multi-task.
