St. Paul's School (SPS) is now hiring temporary summer workers to provide assistance in the Facilities and Planning Department. Preference will be given to to dependent children of regular SPS employees. Minimum age is 16.

This position provides support to the Grounds department by assisting with landscaping, mowing, and other outdoor work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain grounds: mow lawns, plant flowers and shrubs; prune trees and shrubs; remove weeds and brush using power equipment.
  • Perform other seasonal grounds work: rake leaves, sweep sand, repair walkways, clean drains.
  • Pick up trash around buildings and dorms.
  • Move furniture; relocate offices, set up furniture in dorms.
  • Carry out other special work orders (facility set-ups/tear-downs for special events).
  • Follow established health and safety procedures.
  • Keep storage areas clean and organized.
  • Perform specialized grounds maintenance tasks, such as maintaining athletics fields.

Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to stand on and in wet areas to perform required work.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • All summer workers must complete the online boundary training.
  • Must be able to work a schedule of Monday to Friday, from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Pay is $16 per hour.
