JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Performs the duties of Pharmacy Intern as prescribed by state and federal statutes, as well as Samaritan Health Services policies. Prepares and dispenses medication, assesses clinical status of patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics). Educates and counsels patients#regarding medication therapies under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Performs a broad range of technical and clinical support functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Samaritan Specialty Pharmacy serves the specialty drug needs for patients in the Mid-Willamette Valley and Central Oregon Coast. We have an experienced and dedicated team of clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and advocates who work directly with specialist physicians and clinics. Our pharmacy#s mission is to provide patients convenient and affordable access to specialty drugs as well as ongoing monitoring and medication management support. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Current unencumbered Oregon Board of Pharmacy Intern license required. Successful completion of first year PharmD school required. Must remain student in good standing with an accredited pharmacy school until graduation. All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen.
