Description

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic performer to lead our human resources department. The Director of Human Resources will play a pivotal role in shaping our organizational culture, enhancing employee engagement, and driving talent management initiatives. This position requires a forward-thinking leader who can align HR strategies with our business goals while fostering an inclusive and high-performance work environment. This role will also ensure compliance throughout the corporate and field offices.

The Business:

The Investment Real Estate Group of Companies (IREGC) is composed of real estate-centric entities focused on the self-storage industry. In addition, we own and operate a portfolio of over 70 stores with a stated goal of reaching 100 stores by the end of 2025. Our market area includes thirteen states in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions, and beyond. IREGC provides property management, development & construction services, and insurance products. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the company's goals and objectives.

- Collaborate with executive leadership to drive organizational change and culture initiatives.

Talent Acquisition & Management:

- Oversee recruitment efforts to attract top talent and ensure a robust talent pipeline.

- Implement effective onboarding and retention strategies to enhance employee experience.

Employee Engagement & Development:

- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development through training programs and career advancement opportunities.

- Conduct employee engagement surveys and implement action plans based on feedback.

Performance Management:

- Design and manage performance appraisal systems that promote accountability and reward high performance.

- Provide guidance to managers on performance-related issues and employee development.

Compliance & Policies:

- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, keeping the organization informed of any changes.

- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with best practices.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Oversee compensation structures and benefit programs to ensure competitiveness and equity.

- Analyze market trends to recommend improvements in total rewards offerings.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion:

- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organization.

- Develop programs that promote a diverse workplace and equitable opportunities for all employees.

Requirements

Experience:

•Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

•Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

•Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and regulatory compliance.

•Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

•Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategies that align with organizational goals.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

•Experience in change management and organizational development is a plus.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

•Proficient in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools.

•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

•Demonstrated success in talent acquisition, employee relations, and organizational development.

•Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

Physical Requirements:

•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, use a computer, and present information to groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public in English.

•Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.

•Be stationary for prolonged periods of time.

•Stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and repetitive motion may be required in completion of job duties.

•Must be able to lift 10+ pounds.

•Regular travel is required for this role.
