Development Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Resource Development

Position Status: Full-Time (40 HRS)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Resource Development. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive

grant application and management strategy. This position functions as the administrative anchor of a growing development department. The position allocates 40% Raiser's Edge database management and 60% grant writing, event support, development office administration and clerical. The Development Coordinator will build upon the progressive approaches our Director of Resource Development and CEO, established in our Development Plan. Knowledge of, and previous experience with Raiser's Edge NXT database is a must. He/She will be responsible for updating constituent/funder records on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate information is maintained.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Research and write public and private grants to expand sustainable funding sources for Gateway

Center programs and services. Manage each grant project, including researching any foundation match, writing the proposal, and

providing reports and evaluations as needed. Database management in Raiser's Edge. Proficiency in functions may include Query, Export, Mail, Batch, Volunteer, Admin Dashboard, and Net Community. Maintain donor database and ensure accuracy of gift entry. Prepare queries and reports as requested to provide decision-making and tactical information for the department. Works directly with the Director of Resource Development and others to capture, maintain and extract detailed reports and data in a timely manner regarding Gateway Center donors, events, and constituents through Raiser's Edge. Files gift entry paperwork according to Gateway Center policy. Implement the gift acknowledgement process in a timely basis with the highest level of accuracy (Includes preparation of letters, securing proper signatures, and filing as needed). Prepare direct mailings including prepare mailing list, execute mail merge, print letters, gather components as needed throughout the year. Perform development department general administrative support. Provide event support as a member of the development team, working closely with the Resource Development Director on major fundraising events and local community outreach. events. This may include attending events on occasional evenings or weekends. Update the event information within and manage the fundraising software utilized for event (Give Smart, Run Sign Up, Mighty Cause, etc.), including processing donations and creating attendee lists. The identification, removal, resolution and integration of conflicting or duplicate records. Maintenance and correction of all demographic and personal data. Proactively engages in training and brings best practices and innovations regarding donor database to benefit the team in meeting fundraising goals. Manage all online

contributions and ensure transition into the donor database. Support preparation of the Resource Development Committee and Board Meeting reports. Submit monthly reports

to supervisor as requested. Assist in developing fundraising campaigns. Execute donor stewardship and cultivation plans. Participate in staff development and all required Agency meetings. Perform other related duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or non-profit leadership required.

2 years' minimum experience in professional fundraising preferred.

Candidate will possess a strong proficiency and demonstrated progressive use of Raiser's Edge NXT donor database software, as well as

a strong proficiency using Microsoft Excel Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to engage and effectively

communicate with a broad range of individuals. Adaptable, curious and articulate.

Commitment to a positive, solution-focused work environment and the clear intention to meet agency expectations.

Ability to maintain an optimistic and positive working attitude in the face of funder rejection of submitted proposals.
