Job Summary:This role is responsible for managing the credit risk for assigned accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables, and maintaining positive relationships with key clients. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills to manage credit limits, assess creditworthiness, and implement collection strategies to minimize risk and enhance cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collections Management
    1. Monitor accounts receivable follow up on past-due accounts and negotiate payment plans as necessary.
    2. Document all collection activities in the company's ERP system (Full Circle).
    3. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in collections management.
    4. Prepare regular aging reports on the status of delinquent accounts and collection efforts.
  2. Customer Relations
    1. Handle customer inquiries and disputes regarding invoices and payments.
    2. Provide exceptional customer service to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships with customers.
  3. Process Improvement
    1. Implement effective collection strategies to minimize bad debt.
    2. Assist with the Review and update of credit policies and procedures.
    3. Communicate with sales staff and internal support departments to resolve disputes and past due invoices to minimize and eliminate recurring disputes.
    4. Participate in cross-functional projects to improve credit and collections processes.
    5. Provide support during internal and external audits.
  4. Creditworthiness
    1. Evaluate credit applications and determine creditworthiness references, credit reports, and other pertinent information to authorize new customers within company guidelines.
    2. Set and adjust credit limits based on credit score.
    3. Identify and escalate high-risk accounts to management.
    4. Collaborate with sales and operations to manage credit risk.

Education/Experience:
  • BA in Accounting, Business, or related field required.
  • 3+ years of previous collections experience required.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook)
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Excel experience
  • Must have experience working with accounting systems (ERP systems)

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • This position requires but is not limited to lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, listening, and speaking with internal and external clients.
