Summary
Laborers will perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor on construction projects including but not limited to heavy highway, roads, bridges, landfills, subdivisions and airports.
Key Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently assists in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by site supervision
Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
Ensure that company equipment and materials are maintained, kept clean, and stored in safe manner.
Excavate by hand ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
May operate hand and power tools
Flagging traffic passing near, in, or around work zones
Perform other labor related duties as instructed by supervisor
Adhere to all safety guidelines set forth in the company's safety program

Experience/Education
Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Prior construction or vocational experience preferred but not required
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Valid state driver's license
Ability to participate in regulatory trainings (First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, Flagging, etc)
Additional Requirements
Must be able to travel out of town for the day or week.
Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend and climb inclines for the duration of the shift.
Must be able to work some weekends and/or nights, when needed
