As the Compensation and Benefits Manager, you will oversee one Benefit Coordinator and will also provide advice/counsel and support to the Chief People Officer and our Sr. HR Business Partners who service our programs directly.

This position is a regular full-time opportunity and is expected to work in the office at least 2-3 days a week, located in the Clear Lake area of Houston Texas. For the right candidate, relocation will be considered.

Responsibilities:

The Compensation and Benefits Manager will:

  • Develop, coordinate, and administer processes to provide equitable compensation for all employees and the best benefits possible within the parameters of the company's resources.
  • Plan, develop, and oversee programs to pay employees ensuring the managers are thoroughly informed and educated.
  • Works closely with other HR members to develop, review and update existing benefit and compensation-related policies and ensure these comply with current legislation.
  • Responsible for ensuring fair and accurate compensation, including salaries, offers, transfers and equity adjustments, bonuses, and any additional types of employee benefits.
  • Supervises processes, employees, and activities relating to the determination of adequate and proper benefits and compensation.
  • Directs preparation and distribution of informational literature and verbal presentations to notify and advise employees of eligibility for benefits programs including insurance plans, paid time off, and bonus pay.
  • Manages and evaluates both the compensation and benefits functions for organizations, including participating in the design of plans, hiring, salary and incentive, job evaluation, performance appraisal, life and health insurance, and disability.
  • Provides annual salary action plans and administers the salary planning activity.
  • Oversees qualified retirement plan participation.
  • Reviews and analyzes current benefit and compensation programs; develop and execute new programs, as needed.
  • Develops, implement, and administer organization's compensation and benefit programs.
  • Communicates with employees who have inquiries regarding compensation and employee benefit related issues.
  • Administers employee benefit programs, including group medical, dental, vision, prescription, disability, group life, AD&D, EAP, 401(k), and flexible spending account programs.
  • Researches and advises on benefit program enhancements and serve on the committee to evaluate benefit broker recommendations.
  • Participates in contract negotiations and renewals.
  • Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Assures compliance with State and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Manages open enrollment and program implementation processes.
  • Implements and monitors adherence to compensation and employee benefit policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Remains current with laws concerning mandatory insurance coverage, data concerning prevailing practices among similar organizations, and agreements with labor unions and accordingly assists in the modification of compensation and/or benefits programs.
  • Manages activities involving the update of records and the processing of insurance claims.


Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in business or HR related field, plus 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience or any equivalent of education and experience.
