Overview Our History In the early 1970s, as new school buildings were built in Boston, residents felt strongly that these buildings should be used as community resources and offer community programming when school was not in session. This idea led to the establishment of Boston Community Schools in 1972. Overtime we added additional services, programs, and facilities and in 2001, our name was changed to Boston Centers for Youth & Families, and today we are the City of Bostons largest youth and human services agency. Serves over 60,000 Boston residents annually Offers adult education classes and testing for over 1,600 adults each year Provides structured out-of-school time programming for more than 1,500 children and youth each day, and over 18,000 each year Offers sports and recreation programming for thousands of children and youth. Engages over 5,000 children in BCYF summer programs . Key Duties and Responsibilities To introduce and expose youth to various work experiences within a professional environment; to learn and develop hands on work skills for future opportunities. The Ideal Candidate for this Job Must be punctual Courteous and friendly comfortable working in an office, Ability to work independently with little supervision, follow instructions verbally and in writing. knowledge of Microsoft Office software
