- Collaborate with municipal staff and project partners.
- Build trusting relationships with immigrant communities to understand their challenges and needs.
- Identify policy and environmental issues affecting these communities with input from those with lived experience.
- Support city planning initiatives by aligning goals with the needs of immigrants.
- Conduct outreach to promote resources and encourage community engagement in city initiatives.
- Organize workshops to help immigrants navigate local customs, laws, and services.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness and adapt strategies as needed.
- Co-host quarterly meetings for ESOL and immigrant service providers to coordinate resources and support.
- Facilitate subgroups within the ESOL Council for targeted activities.
- Plan accessible programs for immigrant support and language access.
- Ensure all programs are inclusive and culturally responsive to diverse communities.
- Attend weekly team meetings with other social resilience Connectors and staff.
- High School and GED
- Three (3) years experience in community organizing and/or advocating.
- One (1) year experience in Project Management.
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficiency with networking, Zoom, social media, and other outreach methods.
- Ability to speak and/or understand more than one language proficiently.
- Self-driven, and proactive with the ability to work effectively and independently.
- Responsible, organized, and with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated active relationship with the Medford community
- Experience working with immigrant and refugee populations, with a focus on language access and community integration.
- Knowledge of ESOL program development, including curriculum creation and teaching methodologies for non-native English speakers.
- Strong understanding of the challenges immigrants face, including language barriers, legal complexities, and cultural differences.
- Ability to complete forms and documents.
- Ability to summarize and express concerns and opinions of the community.
- Ability to work effectively and independently with diverse community members.
- Ability to facilitate community listening sessions, discussions, and meetings
