Assistant Buyer

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Buyer Assistant to support our Buying Office. This role is essential for providing administrative and organizational assistance in various buying processes. The Buyer Assistant will be responsible for tasks including special order entry, tagging, SKU management, and communication with both internal teams and external vendor partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • SKU Management: Create new SKUs, manage related product features and benefits, and ensure accurate SKU, label, and distribution of special order materials.
  • Tagging: Generate and print all new product tags, maintain edits, and manage downloads for store print requirements.
  • Market Prep: Assist with preparations for market events as needed.
  • Vendor Liaison: Serve as the communication bridge between buyers and vendor partners.
  • Product Status: Communicate product status updates through the weekly Merchandising Memo.
  • Administrative Support: Prepare and distribute weekly memos, maintain effective organization, complete special projects, and provide general support to other assistants as needed.

Essential Duties
  • Office Organization: Maintain an organized workspace and ensure accurate and timely paperwork.
  • Business Relations: Communicate effectively with stores, vendors, and other professionals to ensure clear information flow and issue resolution.
  • Management Support: Keep management updated on relevant activities, provide requested reports, and maintain well-organized files.
  • General Support: Provide additional support for the merchandise department, ensuring efficient workflow and coordination across teams.

Performance Measurements
  • Completeness and accuracy of paperwork.
  • Effective, courteous communication with vendors, store teams, and visitors.
  • Timely and accurate production of documents and reports.
  • Consistent coordination and information-sharing with area personnel and management.
  • Professional and organized presentation of the workspace.

QualificationsEducation:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with web-based tools and basic industry knowledge.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Basic math proficiency.

Experience:
  • 1 year of related experience is preferred.
