
Assessment Specialist

- Conduct screening and assessments for substance use disorder treatment via phone and in person to determine the medical necessity for treatment.
- Make referrals for placement in residential and outpatient substance use disorder treatment and provide follow-up case management services.
- Maintaining participant files and documentation of services
- Coordinating community services
- Collecting and analyzing participant data
- Participating in the Utilization Review Committee
- Engaging in ongoing communication with program participants, treatment staff, and program management
- Possessing a current Substance Abuse Counseling Certification from a State of California Accredited Institution is necessary;
- Possession of a current LMFT or LCSW is preferred;
- Demonstrated experience working with substance use disorder populations in a treatment or case management environment is necessary;
- Experience conducting substance use disorder treatment assessments, screening and placement into appropriate treatment modalities, ideally utilizing ASAM Placement Criteria.
- Experience with substance use disorder treatment models and an understanding of treatment modalities is expected;
- Knowledge of community resources and services is preferred;
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
