RD Rubber Technology Corporation is looking for a full time Buyer Planner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling all activities in the production department and the execution and management of functions related to the procurement of raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, other supplies and purchased services.
  • Coordinate manufacturing operations with strategic scheduling and planning activities with objectives to manufacture high quality products at the lowest possible cost.
  • Review operational processes and recommend and implement improvements by analyzing operations, designing workflows and production processes to increase efficiency and ensure that final products meet the established quality standards.
  • Understands and enforces the policies and guidelines regarding the ethical conduct of purchasing activities by performing the following duties.
  • Plans & coordinates production activities and establishes production priorities for products in accordance with effective operations and cost factors as indicated on work orders.
  • Coordinates production activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of staffing, machines, and materials.
  • Creates and maintains master and daily production schedules and priorities to best meet customer needs.
  • Implements daily timekeeping and analysis.
  • Informs management of production statistics and recommends forecasts for future production.
  • Communicates with management with respect to production schedules, production problems.
  • Develop and coordinate staff training, safety procedures and protocols facility wide.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance of a safe work environment incorporating housekeeping standards (6S).
  • Purchasing of raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, shop supplies and purchased services. Complies and follows purchasing requisition protocols as well as recording expiration guidelines on all materials received. 
  • Issues, reviews, and audits purchase orders to verify accuracy, terminology, specifications and track the status of requisitions, contracts, orders and delivery.
  • Audits shipments in conjunction with incoming Inspection and Receiving to ensure orders are correct, goods meet specifications, and/or resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepares and monitors monthly forecasting and planning to support the company with purchasing requirements. Continuously monitoring market demand and supply specifically for materials.
  • Establishes and directs a cost reduction program aimed at lowering overall purchased goods costs to include accurate standard costs and price lists. Prepares, maintains, and reviews purchasing files, reports and price lists.
  • Negotiates and completes material/supply and outside processing quotes, price and delivery terms.
  • Negotiates purchase contracts, sources new vendors for cost and/or lead times reduction initiatives.
  • Plans and coordinates production activities and establishes production priorities for orders in accordance with effective operations and cost factors to obtain optimum production and utilization of staffing, machines, and materials.
  • Analyzes, monitors, and controls inventory supply and demand for production work order, equipment maintenance and spares, shop and office supplies. Reports monthly inventory on materials, supplies, equipment spares, and tools. (MRP).
  • Collaborates with Customer Service, Production, Quality Control, and Shipping and Receiving departments on planning and scheduling. Revises production schedules and priorities to best meet customer needs.
  • Supports a robust supply chain by maintaining regular communication with major vendors/suppliers to discuss issues/concerns and to maintain good working relationships. Identifies alternate vendors and suppliers.
  • Establishes, maintains, and monitors a vendor performance rating system to track supplier performance, pricing, delivery, etc.
  • Responds to customer service inquiries regarding order status, changes, or cancellations.
  • Schedules and coordinates manufacturing production, set up and maintenance activities and priorities utilizing Job Boss Operating System and customized company tools to best meet customer needs.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree: Industrial Engineering, Business, Economics or related field.
  • Knowledge of materials procurement and resource allocation to include forecasting and production planning and scheduling.
  • Relevant work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Documentation and organization skills.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.

Quality Management System Implementation:
  • Comply with company policies and procedure guidelines with special attention to safety and quality regulations.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure company compliance with ISO9001, AS9100 and ITAR regulations and requirements. Provide improvement and corrective action plan proposals to management.
