GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:To assemble parts, using manual or automatic equipment, for sub-assemblies and finished parts for both inside and outside of the plant. Duties will include, but not limited to assembly, packaging, labeling, de-burring operations, grinding, stacking material onto skids or placing them into bins or containers.Maintain customer quality requirements and specifications, while continually improving process (CIP) SPECIFIC  RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain and encourage a safe working environment which emphasizes on good housekeeping. 
  • Must adhere to all Policies and Procedures and report all Safety Hazards or accidents to Team Leader.
  • Responsible for part quality, final inspection. Maintain quality charts as required.  Accurately complete all related paperwork
  • Work in an efficient and safe manner to ensure high productivity and good quality.
  • Ensure accurate scrap and production reporting and any other reporting as deemed necessary and approved.
  • Responsible for production related identification. 
  • Must follow inspection plans, routings, setup sheets, work orders, kan ban system, and quality alerts.
  • Some material handling may be required (i.e. walk behind, lift truck - starting or loading of components) as well as Lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stretching, sitting, standing in various temperatures.
  • Play an active role in determining and assisting in the implementation of continuous improvement ideas involving throughput and quality.  Participate in team meetings, and cross functional improvement teams as required. 
  • Responsible for accuracy of counts for all production. 
  • Responsible to report all known errors to Team Leader or Supervisor for corrective actions or guidance.
  • Implement and adhere to quality procedures.

QUALITY AWARENESS:
Work in conjunction with DBG’s quality objectives and understand how poor-quality affects DBG, our customers and the end user of our product
 
EDUCATION REQUIRED:Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent   EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • 6 months prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read, write, and relate the meaning of written instructions to practical application 

Experience in various sheet metal manufacturing processes such as rivet driving, spot welding, power tools, etc., and a general mechanical knowledge.  RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS:  
  • Must work well as a Team Member
  • Must work closely with Team Leaders, Production Manager and other departments
 COMPLEXITY OF TASKS  Duties are pre-determined; however, incumbent may realize different options and must be willing todiscuss these with the appropriate people/channels.
Manual dexterity – use of small tools, torque, wrench, impact gun (varies based on specific assignments) Moderate physical effort may be required consisting of lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of heavy materialAbility to withstand a minimum of 10 hours on a concrete surface Lift a maximum of 40 lbs using proper lifting techniques
