- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the fiscal intermediary operations in alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
- Oversee the execution of financial programs that assist clients in managing funding for human services-related expenses, such as home-based care and individual support programs.
- Lead initiatives to streamline financial processes and improve the accuracy and efficiency of service delivery.
- Ensure the organization complies with all state and federal financial regulations, including Medicaid, Medicare, and other public funding streams.
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and audits to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Monitor financial risk and implement controls to maintain the financial health of the organization.
Operations Oversight:
- Supervise and lead the fiscal intermediary team, ensuring high performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with other departments (IT, Human Resources, and Program Management) to improve financial workflows and data accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, including payroll processing, billing, and vendor payments.
- Build strong relationships with state agencies, service providers, and community organizations to ensure the effective coordination of financial services.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, funding agencies, and regulatory bodies.
- Advocate for clients and service recipients to ensure that financial support is delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide leadership in the development of policies and procedures that support the organization's fiscal intermediary services.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to explore new business opportunities and expand service offerings.
- Keep the organization informed of changes in regulatory and financial policies affecting the fiscal intermediary landscape.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, public administration, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, ideally within human services or healthcare sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare regulations, state funding mechanisms, and public assistance programs.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale financial operations and driving strategic improvements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a strong client-service orientation.
- Experience in leading teams and managing change within a complex financial environment.
- Strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
- High level of integrity, with a strong commitment to ethical management and financial stewardship.
