Van Driver

Overview:The Food Rescue Driver will play a crucial role in reducing food waste and supporting local communities by picking up surplus or donated food items from grocery stores, retailers, restaurants, and wholesalers, and delivering them to designated community organizations.
Responsibilities:As a Food Rescue Driver for Sharing Excess, you will use your SPRINTER or CARGO VAN to conduct pickups and deliveries, ensuring the safe transportation of food donations. You will also be responsible for accurately weighing and categorizing each donation using provided scales and a custom app, as well as following all food safety protocols. You will be a regular face that our partners welcome and rely on, offering a friendly and professional demeanor while conducting pickups and deliveries.
Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Own a SPRINTER or CARGO VAN.
• Ability to lift heavy boxes and packages, up to 50 lbs.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed (40-50 hours/week, 7 days).
• Commitment to reducing food waste and supporting local communities.
• Own a smartphone to enter data in real time using our in-house mobile app.
