We are a rapidly growing healthcare company pioneering the most effective treatment methods for children with neurodevelopmental differences. Our mission is to design and deliver life-changing care – one child, one family, one community at a time. Ultimately, we envision a world that cultivates the full potential of every child. At Cortica, every team member is instrumental in helping us achieve our mission
Our culture and values guide how we work and treat one another. Cortica celebrates diversity and fosters an inclusive environment, seeking ideas and opinions from everyone on the team. We safeguard equal rights and respect for all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, creed, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ancestry, veteran status or other applicable, legally protected characteristics. All Cortica employment decisions are made based on an individual’s qualifications and ability to successfully perform the job responsibilities.
What will you do?
- Target goals based on assessment data that address the core deficits in ASD and focus on initiating spontaneous communication in functional activities, engaging in reciprocal communication interactions, and generalizing gains across activities, environments, and communication partners
- Use a multimodal communication system (e.g., spoken language, gestures, speech-generating devices [SGDs], and/or written language) that is individualized according to the individual's abilities and the contexts of communication
- Support treatment plans for speech and language services, including social language goals and goals for literacy development and for assisting the student with self-regulatory and social interactive functions
- Learn and implement comprehensive, specific language program unique to our organization
- Train family members and support staff in language program implementation
- Serve as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team working with children with developmental disabilities and their families/caregivers
- Work alongside an incredible team that's revolutionizing the standard of care for kids and families dealing with autism
- Collaborate more deeply than you ever have before, working closely with clinicians and therapists from a broad range of disciplines
- In this role you are occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
- Team members must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
We’d love to hear from you if:
- You are licensed to practice as a Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant in the State of California.
- You have experience with pediatric population.
- You have experience with patients with autism.
- You have a bachelor's degree.
