Role and Responsibilities:

The Administrative Assistant at LaSalle Market & Deli and Lasalle Only Sweeter plays a pivotal role in providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of daily operations. This multifaceted position involves managing events, assist guests, maintaining sales records, and ensuring efficient business operations. The incumbent will work closely with various departments to streamline processes and contribute to the overall success of both establishments.
  • Uphold the mission and values and conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Stay informed about menu items, ingredients, and specials to assist customers effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate levels of cashier station supplies, assist in restocking, review inventory regularly, and place orders as needed. Also, review and approve invoices from suppliers.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including phone calls, emails, and mail, in a professional and timely manner.
  • Taking cash to the bank and completing deposits, ensuring financial transactions are handled securely and accurately.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests, ensuring timely, polite, and professional communication. Communicate with vendors and ensure requests are done in a timely manner. Use office equipment to check emails, send faxes, make copies, scan documents, and update computer databases.
  • Adhere to all applicable local, contractual, state, and federal regulations, including employment and safety standards.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in an administrative assistant or similar support role.
    • Prior payroll, bookkeeping, and/or banking experience preferred, but not required. 
    • Comfort with basic mathematical calculations for inventory tracking, invoice review, and financial transactions like making bank deposits.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Excellent organizational skills 
    • Understanding of relevant regulations and standards related to inventory management, such as safety and health regulations, to ensure compliance.
    • Advanced Customer Service Skills
