- Play an active role in shaping the metabolic/obesity and inflammatory disease portfolio at Metaphore, understanding platform capabilities and clinical unmet needs to identify and pursue the development of novel therapeutics.
- Project leadership of development programs, cross-functionally leading a team of computational scientists, protein engineers, and translational scientists to effectively and efficiently develop therapeutic candidates.
- Set and manage the budget for the group, including managing in-house and external resources to achieve program-specific goals in a timely and budget-conscious manner.
- Build and lead a team of scientists, supporting their scientific and personal development.
Qualifications:
- PhD or MS in metabolic, biochemistry, immunology, or related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in industry, leading and representing the metabolic disease function on project teams.
- A proven track record of displaying excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate complex information succinctly.
- Extensive industry experience in the discovery and development of large molecule/biologics therapeutics in the context of metabolic disorders.
- Project leadership experience, preferably in the context of biologics and/or the development of therapeutics that leverage ML/AI.
- Experience managing PhD and non-PhD scientists.
- Expertise in the biology of GPCRs, preferably in the context of biologics, but relevant experience in the development of small molecule therapeutics targeting GPCRs is sufficient.
At Flagship, we recognize there is no perfect candidate. If you have some of the experience listed above but not all, please apply anyway. Experience comes in many forms, skills are transferable, and passion goes a long way. We are dedicated to building diverse and inclusive teams and look forward to learning more about your unique background.
