The major focus is on the scrub role, but may also include an assistant circulator role under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. About the Operating Room: UC Medical Center is the regions only level one trauma center and academic medical center. UCMC’s Perioperative Services is expanding with the construction of 8 additional state of the art operating suites, pre and post recovery bays, sterile processing and a new pre-admission testing clinic. Slated to open in early 2023, these additions will increase UC Health’s ability to provide outstanding care to patients and their families. Primary Purpose: Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Surgical Tech provides care to surgical patients and their families. The Surgical Tech plays a critical role in the patient experience, quality, safety and staff engagement with the overall goal of providing world class care that contributes to positive outcomes.
