PLC / DCS Instrument & Control Systems Administrator

INSTRUMENT & CONTROL SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Shown below in order of priority are the primary responsibilities that the person in this position will be expected to perform. A core knowledge in these areas will make it possible to train and prepare the employee to handle the specific duties required of the position.
MUST HAVES:
Candidates must have at least three years of experience in each of these three areas:
- Work with a DCS control system such as programming/configuration and maintenance.
- Work with a process data historian system such as configuration and maintenance.
- Work with a PLC system such as programming/configuration and maintenance.
PLUS TO HAVE:
Candidates with additional experience in these areas would have higher consideration:
- Specifying and purchasing instrumentation for process control and automation.
- Managing instrument and electrical related project work including developing scope and selecting/directing contract labor.
The Instrument & Control Systems Administrator must have a good working knowledge of and should have prior experience with the following:
- DCS and HIS development, configuration, maintenance.
- Yokogawa Centum VP, CS3000 or similarPLC and HMI development, programming, maintenance.
- Allen Bradley-Rockwell, GE-Emerson or similar CONTROLS SOFTWARE: DCS sequence, conditional tables, ladder logic and graphics configuration (Yokogawa System View experience desirable, Ladder logic & HMI design using AB-Rockwell Studio 5000/FactoryTalk and GE-Emerson PAC Machine Edition desirable)DATA HISTORIAN configuration and maintenance. Yokogawa Exaquantum, Pi or similarPC SYSTEMS such as Windows desktops and servers (hardened & virtualized). COMMUNICATIONS: Ethernet IP, Modbus, HART communications.PROCESS INSTRUMENTATION: Design, specification and procurement of process instrumentation.SOFTWARE: MS Office products including MS Excel and MS Visio (SQL, VBA & other coding/scripting desirable).
The Instrument & Control Systems Administrator’s primary responsibilities include:
- Design, procure, implement and maintain all process control systems.
- Develop and implement new DCS and PLC configurations for process control.
- Modify existing DCS and PLC configurations for process control.
- Edit DCS and PLC operating parameters when requested by operations personnel or required by new projects.
- Maintain control system equipment service agreements, schedule and oversee service work.
- Design, procure and implement process instrumentation projects.
- Develop IEC construction packages and oversee construction activities for IEC projects.
- Monitor and maintain process controllers, communications and I/O equipment.
- Monitor and maintain process control HMI displays and HIS stations.
- Work with operations to perform & document testing of emergency shutdown systems.
The items listed below are additional responsibilities that are currently administered and maintained by the Instrument & Control Systems Administrator. Candidates with experience in these additional areas would be considered favorable.
- Assist other personnel in design, procurement and installation of electrical equipment.
- Design, implement and maintain various automated report servers and emailed reports (Exaquantum).
- Assist in maintenance of Plant power monitoring and event reporting system (ION).
Salary range is $130's to $145ish with paid overtime and hourly this reflects $62 to $69 hour plus
