Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced MRO Planning Supervisor to oversee and streamline end-to-end maintenance processes within a 145 Repair Station environment. This role is critical to supporting business objectives by driving Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives, meeting maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with FAA and ISO9001/AS9100/AS9110 standards. The Supervisor will lead a team of Planning Coordinators, manage KPIs for safety, quality, turnaround time (TAT), and oversee budgeting and cost control.

As an integral part of the Project Management Office (PMO), this position requires expertise in maintenance scheduling, resource allocation, customer interface, and compliance, with the goal of advancing our ERP systems (EmpowerMX) and project planning capabilities. This role may occasionally require travel to support our rapidly expanding client base and geographical reach.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct daily activities of Planning Coordinators to achieve safety, service, quality, TAT, and budgetary goals.
  • Develop and refine Lean/Continuous Improvement practices to support organizational growth.
  • Utilize EmpowerMX or similar ERP systems to centralize compliance and streamline data collection.
  • Execute resource planning by forecasting manpower, tooling, and equipment needs.
  • Manage and ensure document compliance and tracking for distribution, auditing, and data collection.
  • Perform project accounting and budget analysis, maintaining accurate spend rates and supporting cost control initiatives.
  • Review and interpret customer-provided aircraft data, including task cards, drawings, ADs, SBs, EOs, and presentations.
  • Collaborate on statements of work (SOWs) and ROMs by establishing accurate work scope hours and budget estimations.
  • Establish and monitor project flow, manpower requirements, and budgetary alignment, adjusting for deviations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and ISO9001/AS9100/AS9110 standards in all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain strong communication with program/project management to address and revise project flow as necessary.
  • Conduct and document customer meetings and prepare project updates through Meeting Minutes and turnover reports.
  • Support contract negotiations, proposal preparation, and new program startup activities.
  • Oversee QA/QC processes and collaborate on audits, CAR, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide on-the-job training for employees using MRO software, ERP systems, and customer systems.

  • Proven leadership abilities in a fast-paced, dynamic MRO environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experience and proficiency in aviation ERP systems (EmpowerMX preferred).
  • Thorough understanding of FAA 145 Repair Station Certificate requirements and ISO9001/AS9100/AS9110 standards.
  • Ability to work in hangar settings, which may not be climate-controlled.

Minimum Education / Experience / Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • A&P Certificate preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role within an MRO, 145 Repair Station, or aerospace industry setting
  • Experience in contract negotiation, budget management, and team building
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SharePoint
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement experience required
