Are you passionate about designing and maintaining robust network systems that keep businesses connected and secure? Do you excel in optimizing network infrastructure to support high performance and seamless communication? If you’re ready to be the architect of a dynamic, resilient network, our client has the perfect role for you. We’re looking for a Network Engineer (aka The Connectivity Architect) to design, manage, and optimize network systems that power productivity and ensure reliable connectivity across the organization.

As a Network Engineer at our client, you’ll collaborate with IT teams, provide technical expertise in networking, and develop solutions that support scalability and security. Your role will be critical in ensuring the network operates at peak efficiency, supporting all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implement Network Infrastructure: Plan, design, and implement network systems including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN setups. You’ll create network architectures that align with organizational needs and provide scalability.
  2. Optimize Network Performance and Reliability: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure optimal speed, stability, and availability. You’ll use diagnostic tools to preemptively identify potential bottlenecks and latency.
  3. Ensure Network Security and Compliance: Deploy and manage security protocols such as firewalls, intrusion detection, and VPN configurations to safeguard the network from external threats. You’ll ensure compliance with data security standards and best practices.
  4. Support Network Expansion and Upgrades: Collaborate on network upgrade projects, evaluate emerging technologies, and provide recommendations for future network expansions. You’ll support implementation to ensure a smooth transition and minimal disruption.
  5. Document Network Configurations and Changes: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, topologies, and troubleshooting steps. You’ll ensure clear, accurate records for reference and support continuity.
  6. Troubleshoot Complex Network Issues: Provide advanced technical support for complex network issues, working with IT teams and end-users to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
  7. Evaluate and Integrate Network Tools and Technologies: Keep up-to-date with the latest in network technologies, evaluate new tools, and integrate them where beneficial to improve network operations and monitoring.

Required Skills:

  • Network Design and Management: In-depth experience with network architecture, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless network setups. You have a strong foundation in designing scalable and resilient networks.
  • Network Security Knowledge: Proficiency in firewall configuration, intrusion prevention, and VPN management. You can implement robust security measures to protect against cyber threats.
  • Networking Protocols and Tools: Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and familiarity with tools such as Cisco Meraki, SolarWinds, or Wireshark for performance monitoring.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Advanced troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, with an analytical approach to network optimization.
  • Documentation and Organization: Strong organizational skills to document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures for efficient network management.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Network Engineering or equivalent experience in network engineering.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, Juniper Networks Certified) are highly advantageous.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering or IT infrastructure, with a track record of designing, implementing, and optimizing network systems.
  • Experience with network operating systems (e.g., Cisco IOS, Juniper Junos) and network virtualization (e.g., SD-WAN) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) is an asset.
