Role Description
- Working directly with customers to conduct assessments and create, implement, and support designs for their manufacturing IT infrastructure.
- Use a wide range of vendors and technologies to meet customers’ goals, some of which include Cisco Catalyst, VMWare, Dell, and Palo Alto.
- Assess, design, configure, and commission network and computer systems for the manufacturing environment.
- Lead a team of engineers and teach the skills necessary to work on these manufacturing systems
- Interface with clients for design meetings and conference calls
- Travel to customer sites to assess, troubleshoot, and upgrade manufacturing infrastructure (30% travel - could be a few days to a week of US-based travel. International travel is rare)
Requirements
- 2 - 8 years of industry experience
- Bachelor's in a technology-related field
- Virtualization (Technologies include Hyper-V and VMWare ESXi)
- Windows Server Configuration (including Domain Controllers and Server setup)
- At least some experience in a manufacturing setting is a must (IE someone who has done purely IT work in an office is not going to be a great fit.)
- Proficient in setup, configuration, or design of at least one of the following platforms:
Cisco Catalyst/ ASA
Palo Alto
Fortinet
VMWare ESXi
Stratus Server
Windows Server
- Certifications in any of these technologies are a plus
- Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, enjoy teaching, and working with others (will be mentoring other individuals on the team)
