Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Underwriter & Execution. This role will be responsible for overseeing all underwriting and execution activities within our commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring the highest standards of analysis, risk assessment, and transaction execution.  They will lead the underwriting and closing processes, focusing on risk assessment, deal structuring, and portfolio management.


Key Responsibilities:

·        Investment Strategy: Develop and implement strategic underwriting frameworks and policies that align with the company’s overall investment objectives. Evaluate commercial real estate financing requests.

·        Transaction Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the underwriting process for commercial real estate investments, ensuring thorough analysis and effective execution of transactions. Perform cash flow and ratio analysis, ensuring accuracy in loan structuring and documentation. Anticipate and proactively address potential issues.

·        Documentation: Lead documentation process and negotiate provisions of term sheets and commitment letters. Oversee closing process requirements and review closing memos and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.

·        Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with investments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Analyze financial statements, monitor collateral requirements, and assess industry risks. Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures.

·        Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management and external partners to drive successful deal execution and enhance relationships. Interact with internal and external parties throughout the loan process.

·        Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, economic conditions, and competitive landscapes to guide strategic decision-making; review market conditions.

·        Reporting: Present investment opportunities, performance metrics, and risk assessments to the executive team and board of directors. Handle loan reporting and performance monitoring.

·        Business Development: Identify new investment opportunities and foster relationships with brokers, lenders, and industry stakeholders to expand the firm’s footprint.

·        Portfolio Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of the investment portfolio, making strategic recommendations for optimization. Manage multiple transactions in a time-sensitive environment. Ensure portfolio is accurate, timely, and complete for strong reporting capabilities.

 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification is preferred.

·        5+ years of experience in commercial real estate underwriting, private equity, or investment management, with a proven track record in leadership roles.

·        Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and risk assessment in real estate investments.

·        Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex financial scenarios.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Argus, and other real estate analysis tools.

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.

·        Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
