Overview

Essential Functions:

We are looking for a Copywriter to create persuasive, on-brand content that sparks curiosity, suggests the best and guides our consumer as a friend in beauty. They will play an important role in delivering on, and evolving, our brand voice and contribute to our creative marketing content strategy.
This position is a hybrid role, reporting into the office in Denton TX on Tuesdays and Weds of each week, working remotely the other days of the work week.

Primary Duties:

Write clear, original copy for email, paid media, organic social, eCommerce (including engaging SEO content), video, radio, direct mail and retail signage to support key company initiatives like product launches, promotions and seasonal campaigns.
Work with Creative Managers and Designers to ensure copy tone and style are consistent with visual tone and style, and to generate workable concepts and ideas.
Work on several campaigns at once, sometimes under tight deadlines.
Proofread copy to check spelling and grammar.
Helps execute campaigns from production through completion.
Ensures that all files related to assigned projects are in the proper place within the appropriate servers/systems for future access.
65% Copywriting across all marketing channels & misc. dept. projects
20% Presenting of work with design partner for internal and cross-functional creative share outs
15% Project tracking and updating and communicating timeline concerns with project managers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.
At least 2 years’ experience as a copywriter, in the retail and/or beauty space preferred
Self-motivated with a keen enthusiasm and understating of industry trends and pop culture
Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to flex brand voice and tone for varied projects and channels, a talent for persuasion, a vivid imagination and a fluency with language
Familiarity with SEO principals and best practices
Ability to partner cross-functionally and respond positively to feedback
A background in proofreading or copy editing
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in working in a MAC-based environment
Understanding of AP style
Ability to write in English & Spanish a plus

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements


The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
