Accessibility Tester

Position: Accessibility Tester

Location: Austin, TX or San Jose, CA or New York (Hybrid 3 days a week)

Duration: 1 Year


Responsibilities:

1. Independently perform Accessibility Testing using the current version of the GAR.

2. Independently be able to triage if a particular behavior is being caused due to issues in the product being tested, assistive technology, or the browser/platform.

3. Clearly document testing results and identified GAR issues.

4. Work with the GDP Accessibility team to provide best accessibility support to our partner teams


Minimum Qualifications

1. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

2. Advanced Knowledge of WCAG, Section 508/508 refresh

3. Advanced Knowledge of all screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, ChromeVox, and Talkback

4. Advance knowledge of Android Accessibility suite, and assistive technologies like Talkback, Magnification, Voice Access, and Switch Access.

5. Advance knowledge of iOS Accessibility tools like VoiceOver, Voice Control, Switch Control, Increased contrast, and magnification 6. Ability to read the DOM and use tools like Axe and Chrome Lighthouse

7. Knowledge of Android Accessibility Scanner tool 8. Adept in identifying complex accessibility issues


Preferred Qualification

1. Advanced knowledge of GAR

2. Knowledge of tools at Google like Buganizer, Accessibility Scanner, Parashu, etc

3. DHS Trusted Tester Certification

4. IAAP CPACC, WAS, and/or CPWA certifications

5. Knowledge of ARIA, HTML, and Javascript is a plus but not required

6. Knowledge of Android and iOS accessibility APIs is a plus but not required
